So every year my auntie gives me and my sister strange Christmas gifts. Last year it was a roll of toilet paper. But inside the toilet paper roll; between each sheet of toilet paper was a dollar bill :)

Well this year we got a wonderfully wrapped bar of Zest soap. My sister was convinced there was money it somewhere, but I wasnt convinced. The package was sealed and didnt like it was opened at all. My sister opened it and saw a piece of hair on the soap that she swore was my aunts so she was completely convinced that somehow there was money in the bar of soap. How this was possible I did not know. The bar of soap looked completely solid. Of course my aunt was no help. But when we got home my sister took the scissors to the soap in search for this money. After digging for a while she spotted what she thought was money. Digging was too difficult and she was getting impatient so we went outside and stopped it out. And guess what we found? :)

Most creative gift ever. I love my auntie for all the work she puts into our Christmas gifts, they will always be remembered with a funny story to tell.

President Barack Obama declared a major disaster in the New York City area Tuesday as Superstorm Sandy pounded the Northeast, killing at least 22 people, sweeping homes into the ocean, flooding large swaths of coastal areas, crippling public transit, and leaving millions without power.

As the East Coast woke up, residents faced the prospect of up to a week without heat, light or refrigeration, while authorities tried to measure the full wrath of the once-in-a-generation hurricane.

The deaths included at least 10 people in New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Tuesday, adding “tragically, we expect that number to go up.”

Been selectively reblogging what posts on Sandy only to find out that most of them are from buzzfeed. So much for a blog of many sources. You should probably just ignore me. I’m just wasting my own time… although I’m not sure why as I have more than plenty to do. Probably going to come to regret this later but blogging is just so addictive! On the day before Halloween, Hurricane Sandy left one Queens neighborhood looking like a scene from a horror film — or a war zone.

A raging blaze whipped along by gale-force winds jumped among tightly packed bungalows in a shoreline community on the city’s southern tip, reducing more than 80 homes to twisted heaps of ash. Known as Breezy Point, the thin slip of land jutting into the Atlantic Ocean made for a grim tableau of homes charred to their foundations after dawn yesterday.

“We watched the whole place go up in flames. It was hell night. It was the devil’s night,” resident Thomas Reicherter told the Associated Press.
