IT’S FINALLY UP AND RUNNING! I may have had to use a cover but at least it’s viewable. This was my first serious attempt at filming, that too with a Contour camera of all things which was borrowed from my father’s friend - big thanks to him! Nevertheless I am open to any constructive criticism so feel free to let me know in the comments below :)
ABORTED!
So I’ve been googling for the past hour and from what I can see, one was able to simply state in the description that they did not own/have rights to the music, but now it appears that there is no way around copyright. If they want to take it down, they’ll take it down and as common sense would suggest, well established artists have no interest in free publicity which would explain why the Kooks were cool with it, but as much as it pains me to say Coldplay was not and that’s a shame because I just lost a little admiration fo them. They were my favourite band.
Sued
- Jai: I might be getting sued by Coldplay
- Tarooj: Oh my god! Don't get sued by Coldplay.
- Tarooj: That's so embarrassing. No one would want to be your friend!
- Jai: Thanks Tarooj
Rehearsals
My most sincere apologies for the lack of blogage recently, but I have been SUPER BUSY this past week and I’m not just saying that. On top of the usual school work and activities which barely leaves me with any free time as it is, I had to accomodate for 12 HOURS OF REHEARSALS for a flashmob that took place Sunday night at the Madinat Ballroom for Mashreq Bank. To add to the already hectic week filled with coursework deadlines and drama rehearsals for my devised piece which will contribute towards my GCSE and that is without even mentioning the demanding friends and their ‘requests’ for photographs form sports day and the entire Silver International Award compilation video dilemma. Unfortunately, it’s getting late and that’s an entirely different story, so I shall leave for another time but all I’ll say is that I could be getting sued by Coldplay!

Something That Makes You Smile
♧: Share the story of something that makes you smile
Nothing makes me smile more than thought of New Years. Having just witnessed Coldplay in concert for the past couple of hours, it seemed impossible to think that my night was going to get any better. As they departed from the stage I turned to my friends and we wished each other a Happy New Year before I finally got to her. We hugged for what seemed like forever. I didn’t want to let go but eventually I had to, but just as I did… She leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
I just smiled. It was so sudden and unexpected that I didn’t quite know what to do, so I just stood there smiling like an idiot whilst I tried to get to grips with what had just happened. If I didn’t know any better I probably would’ve made a move on her because I like this girl and I have for a long time now, but our friendship means more to me than any relationship ever could. Because if I’ve learnt anything over the past year it’s that quite simply friends > girlfriends. I couldn’t think of a better way to put it, but I’m sure you understand what I’m trying to say.
I know that it didn’t mean anything. It was just a kiss on the cheek. But I’m not the type of guy who gets kissed often if at all. I only kissed my last girlfriend once and when I did she told me that she didn’t know if things were going to work out, but that’s a story for another time. I guess it just felt like I was loved for once. It’s nice to feel loved.

I know I’m late and I’m sorry about that. It completely slipped my mind, but without further ado I present to you the backing track which I carelessly selected to accompany the International Award footage: Coldplay’s ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’. If you had any better ideas. TOO BAD! I’m too far into this to turn back now.
Having had to edit this video day in and day out I’m surprised to see that I’m not sick of this song. I guess they’re just that good, which makes me even more excited to say I GOT MY TICKET! :D Coldplay December 31st! ASDFGHJKL! SO FRICKING EXCITED!!!
F*CK YEAH!
